Below are frequently asked questions about tag rugby at Nagareyama Rugby Club GREAT HAWKS.
Q1. 見学だけでも可能ですか？
A1. はい。もちろん可能です。見学はいつでも、何度でも、お気軽にお越しください。
Q1. Can I visit just to observe?
A1. Yes, of course. You are welcome to visit and observe anytime, as often as you like.
Q2. ラグビーは未経験ですが、参加できますか？
A2. はい。参加できます。流山ラグビークラブのメンバーは、ほぼ全員がはじめてラグビーボールに触れたお子さまで構成されています。流山ラグビークラブは、ラグビーボールに触れたことがないお子さまを中心に、元トップリーグ選手や指導者・専門家が安全かつ楽しめるプログラムを開発し、日々改良を続けています。ぜひ、ラグビーを楽しんでいただきたいです。
Q2. I have never played rugby. Can I join?
A2. Yes, you can. Almost all of our members are children who had never touched a rugby ball before joining. Former Top League players, coaches, and specialists develop and continually improve safe and enjoyable programs, especially for beginners. We hope you will enjoy rugby with us.
Q3. サッカーや野球等、他の習い事をしています。毎回参加できなくても、会員登録は可能ですか？
A3. はい。もちろん可能です。ラグビーという素晴らしいスポーツを、ぜひ体験していただきたいです。気軽に参加できるよう、流山ラグビークラブは会費を年会費ではなく、参加の都度いただく形式を採用しています。
Q3. My child takes other lessons, such as soccer or baseball. Can we register even if we cannot attend every time?
A3. Yes, of course. We hope your child will experience the wonderful sport of rugby. To make participation easy, our club charges a fee each time you attend rather than an annual membership fee.
Q4. 他のラグビースクールに所属していても参加できますか？
A4. はい。どなたでも参加できます。多くの子どもたちにラグビーを楽しんでもらえる環境を提供しています。主活動として参加できなくても問題ありません。初回は体験として、次回以降は会員として参加いただけます。ぜひお越しください。
Q4. Can I participate if I belong to another rugby school?
A4. Yes. Everyone is welcome. We provide an environment where many children can enjoy rugby. It is perfectly fine if this is not your main activity. Your first visit can be a trial, and subsequent visits will be as a member. We look forward to welcoming you.
Q5. 体験は何回でも可能ですか？その際の参加費は？
A5. 入会を迷われている場合は、初回を含め2回まで体験できます。2回目はスポーツ安全保険に加入せず、参加費をいただきます。3回目以降は入会扱いとなり、スポーツ安全保険への加入のため参加費に加えて800円をいただきます。また、オリジナルラグビーボールのご購入をお願いしています。公平性と安全面への配慮について、ご理解いただければ幸いです。
Q5. How many trial sessions can I attend, and what is the fee?
A5. If you are considering joining, you may attend up to two trial sessions, including your first visit. For the second visit, you pay the participation fee without sports safety insurance. From the third visit onward, you become a member and pay an additional ¥800 for sports safety insurance. We also ask you to purchase an original rugby ball. Thank you for understanding that these rules support fairness and safety.
Q6. 公式試合等はありますか？
A6. 小学4年生以上を対象としたタグラグビーの公式試合に出場しています。私たちは勝つことを目的としたチームではありませんが、公式戦を通じてラグビーを楽しんでいます。クラブ内の試合は毎回の活動で実施しています。
Q6. Do you participate in official matches?
A6. We participate in official tag rugby matches for children in Grade 4 and above. Winning is not our main goal, but we enjoy rugby through official competitions. We also hold matches within the club at every activity session.
Q7. 夏合宿等遠征はありますか？
A7. ありますが任意参加です。2024年11月に茨城県神栖市の波崎で、2025年11月に千葉県千葉市緑区で、1泊2日の「HOLIDAY CAMP」を開催しました。これは技術向上を目的とした一般的な夏合宿ではなく、子どもたちの絆を深め、自立を促すことを主な目的としています。毎年必ず実施するとは限りませんが、実施する際は保護者のご理解をいただいた上で、任意で参加できます。
Q7. Do you have camps or away trips?
A7. Yes, but participation is optional. We held two-day, one-night “HOLIDAY CAMP” events in Hasaki, Kamisu, Ibaraki, in November 2024, and in Midori Ward, Chiba City, Chiba, in November 2025. Unlike typical rugby camps focused on experience or skill development, these camps mainly aim to deepen friendships among the children and encourage independence. They may not be held every year, but when they are, children may participate voluntarily with their parents’ understanding.
Q8. 保護者の当番はありますか？
A8. 保護者の皆さんの負担を可能な限り減らすため、現時点で必ず実施していただく当番はありません。ただし、運営上サポートが必要なため、現在は任意でサポートをお願いしています。ご希望の方はご連絡ください。
Q8. Do parents have assigned duties?
A8. To minimize the burden on parents, there are currently no mandatory parent duties. However, support is needed to operate the club, so voluntary support is welcome. Please contact us if you would like to help.
Q9. 大人が付き添わず、子どもだけの参加も可能ですか？
A9. 事故や怪我、トラブル等の可能性があるため、クラブとしては推奨していません。ただし、保護者の責任の範囲で対応いただける場合は、その限りではありません。万が一トラブルが発生した際、クラブは一切の責任を負いませんので、あらかじめご了承ください。
Q9. Can children participate without an accompanying adult?
A9. The club does not recommend this because accidents, injuries, or other problems may occur. However, it may be possible if you accept responsibility. Please understand that the club accepts no responsibility for any problems that may arise.
Q10. 「5歳未満」の子どもの体験や入会は受け付けていますか？
A10. はい。ただし、保護者の方の付き添いが必要です。コーチの話をお子さまに伝えたり、手をつないで誘導したりするなど、常時サポートをお願いします。年中のお子さまも同じチームで一緒にラグビーをするため、安全面とプログラムの進行上、保護者のサポートを必須としています。
Q10. Do you accept trial visits or enrollment for children under five?
A10. Yes. However, a parent or guardian must accompany the child. Please provide constant support, such as explaining the coaches’ instructions and guiding your child by the hand. Since younger children play rugby together with the same team, parental support is required for safety and program operation.
Q11. タックルがある本格的なラグビーは指導いただけないのでしょうか？
A11. 小学3年生から中学生を対象にしたラグビーチームがあります。平日の月曜日に活動しています。2025年5月20日現在、42名の子どもが参加しています。
Q11. Do you offer coaching for full-contact rugby with tackling?
A11. We have a rugby team for children from Grade 3 of elementary school through junior high school. It practices on Mondays. As of May 20, 2025, 42 children were participating.
